Elastic Plates and Shells
The seminar covers analysis and numerical methods for the elastic deformation of thin plates and thin shells. We will derive the underlying models as limit problems of three dimensional elasticity models for thin objects with vanishing thickness. Furthermore, thin microstructured objects and their deformations will be studied by homogenization theory and corresponding multiscale discretization schemes will be investigated. The first meeting with the distribution of research articles will be on Wednesday, February 1st 2023 at 12:00 in Room 2.040, Endenicher Allee 60.
