Lecture WS 18/19 Advanced Topics in Numerical Analysis
Optimal Transport and Geometric Evolution Problems
The lecture course will discuss modern numerical methods and present efficient algorithms for optimal transport problems and second as well as fourth order geometric gradient flows. The course will be self contained and the required theoretical background on the different formulations of optimal transport, on differential geometry and parametric or implicit surface models will be presented.
